Zivox ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclosure, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "Application").

Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the Application depends on the content and materials you use, and includes:

a. Personal Data

Demographic and other personally identifiable information (such as your name and email address) used to display user profiles, rankings, and for sending feedback or responding to surveys.

b. Health Data (Health Connect & Apple Health)

With your explicit permission, we may access health-related data from your device using Android Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iOS). This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Steps count
  • Calories burned
  • Heart rate
  • Sleep analysis
  • Nutrition data

c. Strava Data

If you choose to connect Strava, Zivox collects only the Strava data available through the OAuth permissions you approve. We collect it directly from Strava through its API after you authorize the connection; we do not receive your Strava password.

  • Your Strava profile information made available by the permissions you approve.
  • Your Strava activities, including activity name, sport type, date and time, distance, duration, elevation, speed or pace, and performance metrics that Strava makes available.
  • Route or location information only when it is included in the Strava activity data available to Zivox.

d. Camera Access

We request permission to access your device's camera to calculate calories from images of food and drinks, for scanning QR codes to add friends, and for uploading user avatars. We do not record or store any video or images without your explicit action.

2. Use of Your Information

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the Application to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Provide personalized health insights and recommendations based on data from health sources other than Strava.
  • Enable QR code scanning for friend connections and seamless interactions.
  • Process payments and refunds (via Google Play Billing and App Store).
  • Send you notifications regarding updates, security alerts, and support messages.
  • Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve your experience with the Application.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your Personal Information with third parties without your consent, except in the following circumstances:

By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation.

4. Strava Connection and Your Choices

Zivox uses Strava data only to provide the Strava-connected functionality you request in Zivox, including importing and displaying your own activities and applying them to your Zivox experience. We request only the OAuth scopes needed for that functionality and honor the permissions you grant.

We do not sell, rent, license, or disclose your Strava data to other users, advertisers, or other third parties. Strava data from your account is shown only to you in Zivox unless you separately choose to share content yourself. We do not use Strava data or data derived from it for advertising, analytics, aggregation, product improvement, or to train, evaluate, or operate an AI application.

Strava data is held only as a transient cache for no more than seven days. We promptly stop displaying data that Strava removes or makes unavailable and reflect a deletion or privacy change within 48 hours.

You may withdraw consent by disconnecting Strava in Zivox or revoking Zivox in your Strava account settings. You may also request deletion through the Delete Data Instructions page. After a disconnect, revocation, or verified deletion request, we permanently delete Strava data and personal data derived from it within 30 days and send confirmation to the email associated with your Zivox account.

Strava may monitor and collect data about Zivox's use of the Strava API in accordance with the Strava API Agreement and Strava Privacy Policy.

5. Public Profiles and Community Features

Certain information associated with your account may be visible to other users of the Service, including your username, avatar, achievements, rankings, leaderboard positions, battle results, monster information, and other gameplay-related activities.

We may use, display, reproduce, or share public profile information and gameplay-related content, such as usernames, avatars, achievements, rankings, leaderboard positions, battle results, monster information, and other in-app activities, through the Service, our website, social media channels, app store listings, marketing materials, and other promotional content related to Zivox.

We will not intentionally disclose sensitive personal information, including email addresses, phone numbers, precise location data, health-related information, fitness activity records, or data obtained from connected health platforms without your consent. Strava data is never shared with other users or third parties through these community features.

6. Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

7. Policy for Children

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13. If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under age 13, please contact us using the contact information provided below.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date of this Privacy Policy.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use non-Strava information to the extent necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies. Strava data follows the shorter retention and deletion commitments in Section 4.

10. Data Deletion and Account Deactivation

You have the right to request deletion of personal data we collect. You can use the "Delete Account" feature in the Application settings or contact us directly. Disconnecting or revoking Strava also starts deletion of the associated Strava data and derived personal data. For details, visit:
